汇报内容简介：In computational thermodynamics (CT) the equilibrium state is described using thermodynamic functions that depend on temperature, pressure, and composition. The integral Gibbs energy is used to model thermodynamic properties. The reason to model the Gibbs energy rather than any other thermodynamic function is that most experiments are done at constant temperature and pressure. From the Gibbs energy all other important quantities can be obtained. In this presentation, the calculation techniques and various models of thermodynamic properties will be described.

汇报人简介：William Alan Oates，在英国Salford大学获得硕士、博士学位。退休前是澳大利亚Newcastle大学教授。从1992年起，被聘为Salford大学荣誉教授。重要从事合金热力学的钻研，在国际学术刊物上颁发了约160篇文章。2006年获得美国TMS学会宣告的William Hume-Rothery奖。该奖从1974年起，每年宣告给一位在合金钻研领域作出过凸起贡献的科学家。
